Kim Farris cautions readers from the beginning that what they are about read in The Leaking Heart is her raw, organic vulnerability and that when they open the pages , they're opening up her heart, soul, and experiences throughout many years of love, desperation, depression with suicidal thoughts, and hope. She was not lying or exaggerating. The heart and soul of this poet does indeed leak all over these pages and throughout this collection. There is Love and Light, Darkness and Despair, and Hope and Inspiration. The poetry in The Leaking Heart represents a lifetime of self-reflection and will make you want to somehow reach through the pages and give this poet a heartfelt hug.

I really enjoyed reading The Leaking Heart from beginning to end. This book is small but mighty. Kim's book of poetry is directly from her heart and full of so many poems I could relate to. I enjoyed reading the poem written to her mother and that this book is dedicated to her mother as well. Thank you for being brave enough to share your heart with us.
